Configuring maximum age for the password

The maximum age for a password determines the period of time (in days) that a password can be used before the system requires the user to change it.

Before you begin

  • You must have full access to the application server.

Procedure

  1. On the SDL LiveContent Architect application server, click start > Run.
  2. In the Open field, type regedit.
  3. Open the hierarchy: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Trisoft > TriDK > TridkApp and click on InfoShareAuthor.
  4. To configure the maximum password age, double-click on the key AuthMaximumPasswordAge in the right pane of the window, and change the Value data to a numerical value representing number of days. The default value = 0.
When the specified amount of time passes, the password expires and the user or System Administrator must change the password.
