Subject scheme support
SDL LiveContent Reach provides support for DITA subject schemes. Subject schemes were introduced in DITA 1.2; they give you an alternative way to navigate the content of a publication by listing topics within a subject category, which can complement the sequential order of topics offered by the traditional TOC.
You implement subject schemes using the following two DITA specializations: subjectScheme map and classification map. We have included source files (maps and style sheet) to demonstrate this capability. You can publish and view this demonstration, or modify it to suit your specific needs.
These resources are accessible from the following locations in your SDL LiveContent Reach installation:
DITA subject scheme map (defines subjects)
LiveContent_home\LiveContent\samples\DITA\subject-scheme.ditamap
DITA classification map (provides the TOC structure, and also classifies the topics according to the subject to which they pertain)
LiveContent_home\LiveContent\samples\DITA\sample.ditamap
XSL style sheet (formats and positions the map)
