The repository
You use folders to create a hierarchy, organize, and store content in the SDL LiveContent Architect repository.
- Folders
All content in the SDL LiveContent Architect repository is stored in folders. When creating a folder, you define the type of content that it can contain. SDL LiveContent Architect does not use the location of an XML object for addressing or linking so the folders are for your convenience only for organizing, storing, and locating objects. - Creating a folder
When you create a folder, you set the content type, and folder owner. Setting the content type determines the type of objects that can be stored in the folder. Setting the owner is used to assign user permissions to the folder and its contents. - Creating a query folder
You create a query folder to save the results of a query of objects with specified metadata characteristics. This folder provides easy access for users to retrieve query results at any time. - Creating a shortcut folder
You can create a folder that references objects stored in other locations in the repository. - Modifying folder properties
Some folder properties, such as the name and read-access settings, can be modified after creation. Those that you cannot modify are displayed in grey, non-editable fields. - Examples of queries for query folders
You can construct queries for query folders that you create. When executed, the queries retrieve objects stored in the repository based on the criteria you specify. You can specify criteria for full text searching which includes the data and metadata of the objects in the repository. - Object types
SDL LiveContent Architect stores content as modular objects, classified into types. You organize the objects to create your deliverables.
