Adding a DITA OT Output Format

To publish from SDL LiveContent Architect to DITA OT, you must configure a DITA OT output format. After it is created, it is available in Publication Manager to add as output for your publications.

Procedure

  1. Login to the SDL LiveContent Architect Web Client as an administrator user then:
    1. Click Settings > Output Formats.
    2. Click New.
  2. In the Output Format Properties window, note the following for the General section of the window:
    FieldNote
Output formatEnter a unique name for the Output Format.

This is the name that users see in Publication Manager when they publish.

ResolutionsSelect the resolution(s) of the graphics, in order of preference, that you want to appear in the LiveContent publications.
EDT of the outputSelect the EDT of the output (Electronic Output Type) from the select list.

The resulting output is uploaded to the repository. It is required that the correct mime type is associated with the resulting output.

Single fileCheck if you want one file produced for the output type. If you want a file produced for each topic, leave unchecked.
Dita-OT transaction typeSelect the DITA-OT transformation type that corresponds with the transtype as defined in DITA-OT.
Style processorSelect the Style processor from the select list that applies the correct style to the output.
ActiveCheck this box; this indicates whether the item is visible in the lists in the properties screen (for future use).
  3. Do the following in the Advanced section at the bottom of the window; specify in the checkboxes (check to indicate, yes) if you want to:
    1. Clean up; after publishing SDL LiveContent Architect deletes temporary files from <SDL LiveContent Architect_home>\DataDita\PublishingService\Data\DataExports
    2. Keep DTD System ID; change the DTD location in the System ID of the published file to the absolute server-side DTD location resolved by the catalog.
    3. Resolve Variables; it is recommended that you check this option.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart IIS on the SDL LiveContent Architect server.
