Deleting Objects from the Local Storage

Files downloaded to local storage when you check out or view from the repository are not automatically deleted. After a time, local storage can become quite full. You can delete files from storage when you no longer need them stored locally.

Procedure

  1. Perform one of the following actions:
    ApplicationAction

    XML authoring toolSelect SDL LiveContent > Open Local Storage...
    • Local Storage is located in: My Documents\InfoShare\InfoShareAuthor@mspappdit000\YourWindowsLogin
    • Files that were checked in or were viewed have a read-only status. Files that were checked out and have not yet been checked in have a read-write status.
    • You can click a column heading in the local storage file listing to sort by title, version, language, mode or Date Modified.
  2. Right-click on the file you want to delete.
    To select and delete multiple files, press the Ctrl key and select the files then right-click on a selected file.
  3. Click Delete.
    • If an object is checked in or released, you are prompted to confirm that you want to delete the object. If you click Yes, the object is deleted from local storage.
    • If the object is checked out, you are warned, if you delete it you will lose any changes made to it. If you click Yes, the object is deleted from your local storage. This action is similar to selecting Undo Checkout. Do not delete objects that are checked out unless you want to discard your changes.
  4. Click Close in the Local Storage window.
