Deleting a Publication

Although you can hide a publication, you may want to delete it instead.

Procedure

  1. If you are in a SDL LiveContent Reach tool, click Home in the breadcrumb trail.
The Review and Collaboration landing page appears.
  2. In the Administration Tools pane, click Manage Publications.
    The Manage Publications page appears.
  3. In the left pane, click a publication.
  4. Hide language resources:
    1. Click a language resource.
    2. In the Configuration pane, uncheck the visible check box.
    3. Click Save.
    4. Click Delete Language Version.
  5. In the left pane, click a publication.
  6. In the Configuration pane, uncheck the visible check box.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Delete Publication.

    You are prompted:

Are you sure you want to permanently delete all language versions of this publication and their associated resources?

There is also an option for deleting all comments:

    Permanently Delete this Publication's Comments?

Choose whether to delete the publication and its comments, just the publication but not the comments, or to cancel the deletion.

    OptionDescription
To delete the publication and its comments:
    1. Select the Permanently Delete this Publication's Comments? checkbox (this is the default).
    2. Click Yes.

The publication is deleted and the comments no longer exist. For example, you cannot see the comments in Manage Comments.

If you re-publish the same publication, the new publication will have no comments associated with it.

To delete the publication but save its comments:
    1. Clear the Permanently Delete this Publication's Comments? checkbox.
    2. Click Yes.

The publication is deleted but the comments are retained. For example, the comments remain visible in Manage Comments, so you can process those comments. However, you cannot open the topics associated with those comments.

If you re-publish the same publication, the new publication shows the comments, provided the topics associated with those topics still are in the publication.
