Loading a Package with the Installer

Loading a package with the installer program is useful for installing the initial SDL LiveContent Reach instance and publications, or for streamlining the installation and update process for your users.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the directory where the package files are located, then do one of the following:
    • On Windows, double-click install.exe.
    • On Solaris or Linux, type ./install.bin.
  2. Follow the prompts in the installer program.
Some of the default values may be pre-populated by the creator of the package.
When the installer finishes installing the application, it automatically loads the package contents into the application.
  3. View the package status information as follows:
    1. Log in as a user who belongs to a group with the Manage App permission.
    2. If you are in a SDL LiveContent Reach tool, click Home in the breadcrumb trail.
The Review and Collaboration landing page appears.
    3. In the Administration Tools pane, click Manage Application.
      The Manage Application page appears.
    4. In the left pane, click System Status.
The system status and package information appear by default in the right pane.
