SDL LiveContent general requirements

Overview of the minimum hardware and software requirements that need to be met to install and run any or all of SDL LiveContent capabilities. Unless stated otherwise, the requirements listed apply to all parts of SDL LiveContent.

Hardware requirements

Hardware requirements depend on the size of the project. Dual core CPU and 8 Gb RAM are a minimum for the database, and a quad core with 12 Gb RAM for the application server. It is also recommended to install two servers for a start, one server handling the synchronous operations and one server handling the asynchronous/background operations. Although all capabilities in can run on a single server.

Software requirements

Operating systems
Servers can run on a Microsoft or a Linux operating system
Database
The system requires one of the following.
  • A UNIX-based SDL LiveContent Architect database server running Oracle.

  • A Microsoft Windows SDL LiveContent Architect database server running Oracle or MS SQL Server, Standard or Enterprise edition.

Other software
Capabilities in SDL LiveContent require the use of Java and XML processors such as Microsoft XML Parser.
SDL LiveContent supports the use of today's leading XML editors and can also include its own editor.
SDL LiveContent supports the use of today's leading Web browsers.
