Suppressing loading of figures

As a performance optimization, you can configure LiveContent S1000D to suppress the automatic loading of figures when a user steps through a Process or Procedure Data Module and lands on a step with an associated figure.

Procedure

  1. If you have neither modified the default skin nor created a custom skin of your own, do so now.
  2. Navigate to one of the following:
    • If you have modified the default skin, navigate to the templates\FullSupport\etc\skins\Carbon\ subdirectory of your LiveContent S1000D data directory.
    • If you have created a custom skin of your own, navigate to the templates\FullSupport\etc\skins\SKIN\ subdirectory of your LiveContent S1000D data directory, where SKIN is the name of your custom skin.
  3. Navigate to the templates\config\ subdirectory of this skin folder.
  4. In this location, open the file components.xml for editing.
  5. Search for the following markup:
    <prop id="AutoLoadFigure">1</prop>

  6. If you find this markup, to suppress the automatic loading of figures, set the contents of the first element to 0.
  7. Alternatively, if you do not find the markup, add the following markup:
    <prop id="AutoLoadFigure">VALUE</prop>

where VALUE is 1 if you want enable the automatic loading of figures, or 0 if you want to suppress it.

  8. Save and close components.xml.
