Using a watermark image

You can configure a common watermark image to be used in all publications, or a publication-specific watermark image. The image must be in PNG format. It will appear on all PDF pages, except pages that contain only graphics or figures.

Procedure

  1. Select a PNG image to use as your watermark and save it in the httpdocs/images folder.
  2. Navigate to your collection directory.
  3. To use the watermark as a common watermark, to be used in all publications, do the following:
    1. Open wietmsd_prg.xml for editing.
    2. Add the following in the pdf section:
      <configitem name="pdf.watermark">
        images/watermark.png
      </configitem>

      where watermark.png is the name of your watermark image.

    3. Save and close wietmsd_prg.xml.
  4. Alternatively, to use the watermark as a publication-specific watermark, do the following:
    1. Open wietmsd.xml for editing.
    2. Add the following in the book section for a book:
      <configitem name="COLLECTION.PUBLICATION.watermark">
        images/watermark.png
      </configitem>
      where
      • COLLECTION is the name of the collection that contains your publication
      • PUBLICATION is the name of the publication for which you want to specify a watermark
      • watermark.png is the name of your watermark image
    3. Save and close wietmsd.xml.
