Adding hosts

When you add hosts, you define the machines which support Language Pairs.

About this task

This task assumes that the ETS application is already installed on the host you wish to add. If the ETS application is not installed on the host, follow directions in Install the ETS application section first. If you have an SDL BeGlobal subscription and you want to access SDL BeGlobal resources from within ETS, you must configure the Edge Cloud connection before you add any hosts or servers. All Language Pairs and Translation Engines which originate in SDL BeGlobal (in the cloud) are marked by a cloud (cloud symbol for BeGlobal language pairs and translation engines) symbol.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Web GUI.
  2. Log in using an ETS administrator account.
  3. Navigate to Manage > Deployment > Hosts.
  4. In the upper right-hand corner, select Edit.
  5. In the upper right-hand corner, select Add.
  6. Enter the host machine name and the port if the default (4637) is not already used.
  7. Select Add.
If a valid hostname and port number are entered, then a new row with the hostname will be added to the list of Hosts with the hostname and port specified. A list of all the installed language pairs on that host will be automatically listed under the Language Pairs column. A grayed and crossed-out language pair indicates that the language pair is not licensed on that host.
