Step 4: Obtain the ETS license(s)
SDL provides SDL ETS users with two license types: term (subscription) and perpetual. Licenses are obtained on an individual basis by contacting Customer Support. Here you can learn how to obtain ETS licenses, and where to save them.
Before you begin
You need an account with SDL Customer Support Web Portal to place a license request. Please see How to set up new Support Contacts in your SDL Account for help on obtaining or provisioning a support account.
About this task
A valid license is needed to unlock the product and specific features.
- Translation with the licensed language pairs
- Level of concurrency (Processing Units), for higher translation throughput
- Product activation period (for subscription licenses: start and expiration date)
Procedure
- Login to the SDL ETS WebUI as administrator.
- Go to .
- Select the Hosts tab, to consult the previous configuration of Job Engines and Translation Engines.
- Select the Entitlements tab.
- Select Download Entitlements Profile to download and save the myhosts.json file.
- Place a license request through SDL Customer Support Web Portal at http://gateway.sdl.com and specify the language pairs and number of Processing Units required.
- Select Upload License File and select the newly generated 8.3 License file. The license file must be named sdl-ets.lic. The number of available Processing Units is displayed.
What to do next
For multi-server deployment, the procedure must be performed only on the master host.
