Known issues and limitations
A list of known Machine Translation Edge issues and limitations.
- User needs to install libSM.x86_64 when deploying the Machine Translation Edge application on Linux and Ubuntu OS.
- IPv6 is not currently supported.
- The MT Edge application installer has to be run as root/admin.
- There can only be one Master host in a Machine Translation Edge cluster. Machine Translation Edge also do not allow for a Master host to add a remote Worker host that is controlled by another remote Master host.
- Once Machine Translation Edge is installed in one of two modes (Master or Worker), it is not possible to switch between those modes without uninstalling/reinstalling.
- Hostname can only contain ASCII letters, numbers, hyphens, and dots (
/^[A-Za-z0-9\-\.]+$/). - SMTP server responsiveness directly affects the following Machine Translation Edge Web GUI features:
- From the SMTP Configuration page, the Send Test Email action may have delayed status confirmation.
- From the Users management page, the Create new user action may have a delayed refresh of the Users list.
- From the Web GUI login page, the Send Password Reset Email action may have a delayed confirmation that the password reset email was sent.
- When a dictionary is uploaded, duplicate source segments are not detected at upload time, but will issue an error when trying to edit the dictionary via the Web GUI after upload.
