Removing Job Engines

Remove your Job Engines when no longer needed.

Before you begin

You need to have a Machine Translation Edge administrator user account to access the following operations. If you have an SDL BeGlobal subscription and you want to access SDL BeGlobal resources from within Machine Translation Edge, you must configure the Edge Cloud connection before you add any hosts or servers. All Language Pairs and Translation Engines which originate in SDL BeGlobal (in the cloud) are marked by a cloud (cloud symbol for BeGlobal language pairs and translation engines) symbol.

About this task

Removing a Job Engine will permanently delete all translation jobs that are queued and in-progress on that Job Engine. The Translation Queue will not list any translation jobs that were processed by that Job Engine.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Web GUI.
  2. Log in using a Machine Translation Edge administrator account.
  3. Navigate to Manage > Deployment > Hosts.
  4. In the upper right-hand corner, select Edit.
  5. Under the Job Engines column, identify the Job Engine you want to remove, and select the adjacent trash can button.

Results

The server will be removed from the Job Engines column and Machine Translation Edge load balancer will no longer distribute translation jobs to the removed Job Engine.
