Step 2: Install drivers for GPU
If you want to access NMT (Neural Machine Translation) language pairs and if you want to run them on GPU, you need to install NVIDIA drivers on the hosts where the NMT language pairs will be installed.
About this task
You must install NVIDIA drivers on your Linux system. The CUDA Toolkit required for SDL Machine Translation Edge 8 is now included in the installer, so you no longer have to download and install it separately. For more information about GPU support for Adaptable Language Pairs, consult the technical requirements section.
Procedure
- Install NVIDIA drivers:
- Execute $ wget Nvidia 418.87.01.
- Execute $ sudo bash NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-418.87.01.run.
- Restart your computer.
- Test and verify whether the Language Pairs are using the GPU properly by running nvidia-smi when prompted.
