You need to configure your Web application web.config file and add a page directive in your Page Templates to use Server Controls in your Web Application.
Procedure
- Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Open your Web application web.config file and add a page control as follows:

- Open your Page Templates.
- Add the following line to the generated output to add a page directive at the top of every published Web page (
.aspx page):
