Viewing Promotion content for a persona

A persona encapsulates a target demographic defined using fictional Contacts. You can apply a persona to content to view what a Web page would look like through the eyes of different visitors.

Before you begin

For information about setting up and creating personas, refer to SDL Tridion suite documentation.

About this task

For example, you might create a persona to capture a: single, female, middle-class, age 18 to 24, college educated demographic. You can use personas to determine when and where promotions are placed to achieve maximum results.

Procedure

  1. In the slide out navigation pane, select Editing Sites then choose a staging Web site.
  2. Select the Preview tab of the ribbon toolbar.
You see a drop-down menu with the value No Persona overwritten selected. If you logged on to the staging Web site as a specific Contact (persona), you now see content targeted to that Contact. Otherwise, you see content as it would look to an anonymous user, about whom nothing is known.
  3. Open the drop-down menu and select one of the personas, or the value Anonymous, which shows content as it would look to an anonymous user, about whom nothing is known.
The Web page shows content as it would look to the persona or anonymous visitor you selected.
  4. You can now edit the content you see, or navigate to another editable Web page to see how it looks to this persona or to the anonymous visitor.
