Uploading translated files from Studio
You can send the translated files automatically to SDL TMS from SDL Trados Studio using our plug-in.
To use this feature:
- Translators and reviewers must have installed on their desktop either the 2015 or the 2017 version of the SdlTmsStudioIntegration_Commute plug-in, the one corresponding to their version of Trados Studio. The plug-in is available in the My Downloads section on the TMS home tab.
- TMS administrators need to ensure that the Authenticate with TMS credentials box under TMS API is enabled.
Now, when opening in Studio a package downloaded from TMS, the Send Return Package to SDL TMS button becomes visible on the Trados Studio ribbon and is available on the shortcut menu too.
- Procedure

- In Trados Studio, in the Editor screen, perform the required translation and save it.
- Go to Projects in the navigation pane and click Send return package to SDL TMS.
- In the first SDL TMS - RETURN PACKAGE screen, select the translated files to send back to TMS and click Next.
- In the second SDL TMS - RETURN PACKAGE screen, the URL of the source TMS instance (from where the package was downloaded) is filled in automatically. Optionally, you can submit the job to the next step by clicking the switch. Click Authenticate.
- In the SDL TMS Login screen, fill in your TMS username and password and click Log in. When the SDL TMS Login screen disappears, click Next.
- The third SDL TMS - RETURN PACKAGE screen displays the system validation steps. Click Next and finally, click Finish.
Your translation is now available in SDL TMS.
