Working in the Authorization or PJM Authorization screen

This screen enables you to authorize individual tasks from a given language pair within a job.

Procedure

  1. In the Inbox View click this icon to display the job on the Authorization or PJM Authorization screen. For a complete description of the screens, consult the TMS Online Help.

  2. Analyze the first task in the Authorization table:
    • If you want to view the task's history, click the link in the Task column.
    • If you want to choose a different workflow for the task, select the workflow from the list in the Workflow box (if alternative workflows are available).
    • If the Vendor/Cost Model column appears in the Authorization table, you can assign vendors to tasks in this job. To assign a vendor to a task, select the vendor from the drop-down list in the Vendor/Cost Model box. The selected vendor will be assigned to the PJM Authorization step and any other vendor-enabled steps for that task.
    • If alternative cost models are available, select each cost model in turn and view the effect on the translation cost. The final cost model selection will be used to generate invoice amounts when the tasks are authorized.
    • If the Authorization table contains a Translator box or Reviewer box, you have the ability to choose the translator or reviewer who you want to work on the task. Choose the required translator and reviewer from the lists in the Translator and Reviewer boxes.
  3. Authorize, reject or terminate the task.
    • If you want the task to be translated, select the task and click Authorize. A message is displayed confirming that the task has been authorized. Click Info to clear the message from the screen.
    • If you do not want the task to be translated, select the task check box and click either Terminate or Reject.
      • Click Terminate to terminate the task. When you click Terminate a window containing a list of termination reasons is displayed. Choose a reason and click Yes. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Info to clear the message from the screen.
      • Click Reject if there was an authorization step before this one and you want to return the task to the person who performed that step. When you click Reject a comment window is displayed. Enter the reason why you are rejecting the task and click Submit. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Info to clear the message from the screen.
    • If you do not want any tasks to be translated for any language pair, you can delete the job. To delete the job, click Edit. The Job/Edit screen is displayed. Click Deactivate Job. Confirm that you want to deactivate the job and then click Delete.
  4. Continue working with the tasks for this language pair until all tasks have been authorized, terminated or rejected.
    • If you prefer, you can select several tasks and authorize, terminate or reject them at the same time.
  5. In the Language Navigation box, select the next language pair. The tasks for the language pair are displayed in the Authorization table. Perform steps 2 - 4 on the tasks.
  6. Continue working on the job until all tasks for all language pairs have been authorized, rejected or terminated. The job will remain in your inbox as long as there are any tasks which have not been authorized, rejected or terminated.
