About checking in files to GroupShare

When you check in files to the GroupShare Project Server, you can:
  • Upload new versions of edited files and change their current translation phase.
  • Add new files to the GroupShare project.

Checking in a new version of the file

When you open a file for translation or review, you are prompted to check it out from the Project Server. When you run a batch task or create a package for a file, the file is checked out to you automatically. On finishing your work, you need to update the files on the Project Server with your locally modified files by checking them in. This also automatically unlocks the file so other team members can edit it. When checking in the file, you can also choose to update the current translation stage for the file by changing its phase.

Adding new files to GroupShare

If you add a new file to a GroupShare project, checking in the file uploads it to the Project Server so other users can work with the file. The steps to add a new file are identical to adding a file to a local project but with one extra step of checking in the files to upload them to GroupShare. See How to Add Files to an Existing Project for more information.
