Book TMs and automated translation provider language pair settings
- Translation memory and Automated translation
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation settings to specify: - Translation Memory and Automated translation > Search
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Search settings to specify the settings for translation memory lookup and concordance searching. - Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Penalties
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Penalties settings to specify how matching translation units with formatting differences or multiple translations should be penalized. - Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Filters
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Filters settings to specify what filters are applied against the translation memory. These filters are applied to translations retrieved from the translation memory when lookups are performed. This can be for all language pairs or for one language pair. You can create, edit and remove filters. There are two types of filters that you can apply to a translation memory: - Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Update settings to specify the field values to assign to new translation units when updating the translation memory. By default, a new translation is automatically added to the translation memory and assigned the field values specified when you confirm a translation during editing. If you prefer to add the translations manually, you can change this setting at any time. Automation settings are located in the Options dialog box. - Translation memory and Automated Translation > Language resources
Use the Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Language Resources settings to specify what language resource template is available for use in a project. The lists within a language resource template selected here are used if there is no translation memory for a specific language pair selected for that project. The language resource template is used to define the segmentation rules and to identify untranslatable content. - Translation memory and Automated translation > Auto-Substitution
The Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Auto-substitution settings determine if auto-substitution is enabled for dates, numbers, variables, alphanumeric strings, times, measurements and acronyms. These are all recognized tokens. - Auto-substitution > Dates and Times
The Dates and Times settings determine the format of date and time patterns to be used when auto-localizing dates and times. Auto-localization is the process by which SDL Trados Studio automatically adapts the format of date and time elements to suit the target language of your current translation. These settings are only available on the language pair level, since the date and time patterns are target language-specific. - Auto-substitution > Measurements
The Translation Memory and Automated Translation > Auto-substitution settings determine the spacing used when auto-localizing measurements. Auto-localization is the process by which SDL Trados Studio automatically adapts the measurement to suit the target language of your current translation. In the case of measurements, this only changes the spacing used in the measurement and does not convert the unit of measurement to what is used in the target language.
