Correcting connections

If you are aligning documents that do not mirror each other or documents with few unique content (proper names, numbers, dates, measurements etc.), SDL Trados Studio may incorrectly determine how sentence pairs belong together. You can correct such misalignments in the Alignment view > Home tab when Aligning Files with Subsequent Review or when Opening Files in Alignment view.

Select to Disconnect - Connect

About this task

To disconnect a misalignment, select the connection line or click inside the connected segment, then click the Disconnect button on the ribbon. You can also right-click on the line one of the connected segments and select Disconnect from the context menu. This breaks the current connection line and disconnects the alignment pair.

To connect segments manually, click on the row number in the source column and on the row number in the target file then select Connect. This connects the selected segments, confirms the alignment pair and sets the quality value for the alignment to the maximum value of 100.

For *.sdlretrofit files, you can only connect segments that are in the same paragraph.
