Deactivating your product offline
To deactivate your product when you have no Internet connection, you need to use another computer with Internet access to the SDL Account website to return the deactivation certificate.
Step 1: Obtain deactivation authorization
Procedure
- Use a computer that can access the Internet and log into your SDL Account.
- Click the Licenses link.
- Click the Can't deactivate online? - Deactivate offline link next to the product key you want to deactivate.
- Follow the instructions to obtain a deactivation authorization for your SDL product.
- Copy the deactivation authorization.
Step 2: Generate the Deactivation Certificate
Procedure
- On the computer with the SDL application, display the Product Activation dialog box..
- In the Product Activation dialog box, click the Deactivate offline link. The Offline Deactivation page is displayed.
- Paste the deactivation authorization into the Deactivation authorization text box.
- Click Generate Certificate to generate the deactivation certificate.
- Copy the deactivation certificate.
Step 3: Complete Deactivation
Procedure
- Switch to the computer that can access the Internet and log into your SDL Account.
- Click the Licenses link.
- Click the Can't deactivate online? - Deactivate offline link next to the product key you want to deactivate.
- Follow the instructions and return the deactivation certificate to complete the deactivation process.

Step 4: Confirm Deactivation
Procedure
- Back on the computer with the SDL application, check the I have returned the deactivation certificate to SDL option.
- Click on the Confirm button to close the dialog box.
