Finding the right file type settings
You can access and change the file type settings for a document, a project or a project template. Before you change the file type settings, you need to determine which one of these you want to use.
Use the following list to determine how to access the appropriate settings:
- You are about to open an individual document and want to change the settings for that document.
- From the menu bar, select . When you open the document, SDL Trados Studio creates a project to hold the document using these settings. (These settings are the default settings used to create a new project.)
- You have just opened an individual document ()and want to change the settings for that document.
- In the Open Document window, click Advanced to display the Project Template Settings - Default window. This is the same default, set of settings that you access from .
- You are creating a project and want to change the settings for that project.
- To access the settings, in the Project files window of project wizard click File Types.
- You have a project and want to change the project settings before you add a document.
- In Projects view , in the Layouts pane, right-click your project. From the pop-up menu choose Project Settings.
- You have a project and want to change the project settings after you have added a document.
- Remove the document from the project, change the project settings as in the previous case, and add the document again.
- You want to change project template settings.
- Select . In the Project Templates dialog box, select a project and click Edit.
