Finding the right file type settings

You can access and change the file type settings for a document, a project or a project template. Before you change the file type settings, you need to determine which one of these you want to use.

Use the following list to determine how to access the appropriate settings:

From the menu bar, select File > Options. When you open the document, SDL Trados Studio creates a project to hold the document using these settings. (These settings are the default settings used to create a new project.)
You have just opened an individual document (File > Open > Translate Single Document)and want to change the settings for that document.
In the Open Document window, click Advanced to display the Project Template Settings - Default window. This is the same default, set of settings that you access from File > Options.
