Home tab - Alignment View
The Home tab contains all the commands you need for working with alignment results in SDL Trados Studio.
The following table describes all the groups and commands that are displayed on the Home tab in the Alignment view:

Connect | Select the row number in the source column and the row number in the target file then click this to connect segments manually. When you manually connect segments, Studio also confirms the alignment pair and sets the quality value for the alignment to the maximum value of 100. | Alignment Actions | |
Disconnect | Select the connection line or click inside the connected segment, then click this to disconnect an alignment. You can also right-click on the line one of the connected segments and select Disconnect from the context menu. This breaks the current connection line and disconnects the alignment pair. | ||
Confirm | Select a connection line then this to accept an alignment pair that you verified as being as correct. When you confirm alignments, the draft, dotted connection line changes to a continuous, green line. This sets all the alignments to Rating: Good, Quality Value: 100, Confirmed. | ||
Reject | Select a connection line to highlight the segments in blue then click this to reject a previously confirmed alignment. When you reject a confirmed alignment, the continuous connection line turns into a dotted line. This sets the alignments that you reject after confirmation to Rating: Good, Quality Value: 100, Unconfirmed. | ||
Confirm All | Click this to confirm all the alignment pairs in the alignment result file. You may want to confirm all pairs at once to quickly set the quality value for all alignments to 100 . When you set a quality threshold of 100 for Advanced Import, Studio can then send all the alignment results to the TM. | ||
Disconnect All | Click this to disconnect all the alignment pairs that are currently connected. You may want to disconnect all pairs at once to ignore all the results of the automatic alignment. This is also useful when you want to work exclusively the Alignment Edit mode as you can only connect disconnected segments there. | ||
Alignment Edit Mode | Click this to activate the Edit mode which enables you to create complex connections easier. You can only connect disconnected segments in the Edit mode. When you enable Edit mode, Studio adds active checkboxes next to all your disconnected segments so that you can easily select the segments that you want to connect. | Edit Mode | |
Connect 1:1 | In the Alignment Edit Mode, tick the checkboxes next to the source and the target segment that you want to connect then click the Connect 1:1 button. This connects one source segment to one target segment. You can only connect disconnected segments in edit mode. | ||
Connect n:n | In the Alignment Edit Mode, tick the checkboxes next to the source and target segment, then click the Connect n:n button. This enables you to create 1:2, 1:3, 2:1, 2:2 or 3:1 connections. You can only connect disconnected segments in edit mode. | ||
