Home tab - Projects view
The Home tab contains the most frequently used commands for working with SDL Trados Studio projects and packages.

Project Settings | Click this to display the Project Settings dialog box for the active project. | Configuration |
New Project | Click this to create a new translation project and prepare source language documents for translation. Shortcut command: Ctrl+N Click About Creating Projects for more information. | Tasks |
Open Project | Click this to open a project and set the project to be the active project. | |
Batch Tasks | Click this to start batch processing tasks. The Batch Tasks drop-down list is displayed. When you click a command on this list, documents that are open in Studio are closed, and the Batch Processing wizard starts. Click Batch Task Descriptions to see descriptions of the available batch tasks. Click Batch Task Sequence Descriptions to see descriptions of the system-provided batch task sequences. | |
View Project Files | Click this to display the Files view. | |
Set as Active | Click this to set the project to be the active project. | |
Remove from list | Click this to close the active project and remove it from the Projects view. This does not delete the project. See How to Mark Project as Complete for more information. | |
Mark as Complete | Click this to change the status of the project to Complete to indicate that all translation and review for that project is finished. | |
Revert Project to In Progress | Click this to change the status of a project that has been marked as complete to In Progress. | |
Create Project Template | Select this to create a template based on the active project. The Save Project Template dialog box is displayed. | |
Open Project Folder | Click this to open the folder on your machine that contains the project file | |
Publish Project | Click this to share a project online by uploading it to the SDL Studio GroupShare Project Server where it can then be accessed and viewed by other team members with access rights. | GroupShare |
Open project | Click this to open a project which has been uploaded to the GroupShare Project Server. Click here for more information about Working with GroupShare Projects. | |
Delete project | Click this to delete a project from the GroupShare Project Server . You may want to delete a project if the project from the Project Server if the project is complete and you want to free up space for other projects. | |
Open Package | Click this to open a project package or return package and display the Open Package wizard. If the project that this package is associated with already exists in your installation of Studio, that project becomes the active project. If the project that this package is associated with does not already exist in your installation of Studio, the project is created and that project becomes the active project. Click About Opening Packages for more information. | Packages |
Create Project package | Click this to create a project package containing all of the files that need to be sent to a project team member in order for them to commence work on a project. Once the package is created, you send it by email to the team member who will be working on the project files. | |
Create Return Package | Click this to create a return package containing project files for which a specific manual task has been completed. For example, project files that have been translated or reviewed. | |
Create Studio 2009 Package | Click this to create a package in Studio 2009 format so that in can be opened in Studio 2009. Click here for more information about . | |
Go to last segment | Jump to the last segment in the last document you worked on. | Bookmarks |
Go to last segment in project | Jump to the last segment you worked on in any given project. | |
Bookmark settings | Open the Bookmark settings dialog box and choose if Studio jumps to the last segment you worked on startup. | |
View Bookmarks | Click this to display the Bookmarks pane to manage and navigate to your bookmarks. See Using Bookmarks. |
