How to copy and paste tags

This topic describes how to select individual tags and copy and paste them one at a time into a target segment in the editor window in the Editor view. Alternatively, you can select a chunk of text that includes a number of tags and paste this into a target segment; the tags are copied and pasted with the text.

To copy and paste individual tags:

Procedure

  1. In the source segment in the Editor window, select the required tag .
  2. Copy the tag to the clipboard. You can either press Ctrl+C or right-click and select Copy from the shortcut menu.
  3. Place the cursor in the target segment at the point where you want the tag to appear and paste the tag into the segment. To paste the tag, you can either press Ctrl+V or right-click and select Paste from the shortcut menu.
    • If the tag is part of a pair, a ghost tag is also inserted. The ghost tag is there to remind you that you need to copy the second tag into the segment.
  4. Type the text to be formatted by the tag pair.
  5. Repeat steps 1-3 to insert the closing tag of the pair. The ghost tag disappears.
    You can also use this method to copy and paste individual placeholder tags.

  2. Press Ctrl+C or right-click and select Copy from the shortcut menu.
  3. Place the cursor in the target segment at the point where you want the text to be inserted and either press Ctrl+V or right-click and select Paste from the shortcut menu.
