This topic describes how to create a manual task. When you create a project package you are required to assign a manual task to the recipient of the package to complete. A manual task is an assignment that you have to perform and its purpose is to give instructions on what work needs to be completed. For example, if you send a translator a project package, you could assign the translator the Translate files task to indicate that they should translate the files in the package.

To create a manual task:
Procedure
- Display the Manual Tasks dialog box:
- Select .
- Click the Tasks button on the Review Project Packages page of the Create Project Package wizard.
- Click Add. The Add Manual Task dialog box is displayed.
- Complete the boxes in the Add Manual Task dialog box.
- Enter a name for the task. This name will appear when you go to assign the task to a package in the Create Project Package wizard.
- If you want to add a description, enter one in the Description box. For example, you may want to instruct the translator to translate and verify the files.
- Select an Editor Configuration. This defaults to the Translation configuration. .
- Click OK to save the new manual task and close the Add Manual Task dialog box.
- Click Close to close the Manual Tasks dialog box.
The manual task is now available for selection when you create a project package.
