If you sent your files for review by a regulator in Word using the Create Regulator Review Bundle batch task, you can import the content of the regulator reviewed target document (FileName.docx.target.docx) back into Studio. This import updates the target segments in the *.sdlxliff project file with any edits, tracked changes (note that formatting changes are not tracked), reviewed statuses and comments.
Procedure
- In the Projects view, right-click on the project and select .
- On the Batch Tasks page of the Batch Processing wizard, click Next.
- On the Files page, select the project files that you want to update and click Next.
- On the Update from a Bilingual Review Document page, select the target document review documents (FileName.docx.target.docx) to use to update your project files:
- If the target review document file name has not been changed and the folder structure is the same, you can automatically match the SDL project file with its corresponding target review document. This is useful if you have a more than one target review document that you need to select:
- Click Add and select Review Documents from Folder.
- From the Files of type drop-down list, select
Regulator Review Target Files (*.target.docx.).
- Browse to the Regulator Bundle folder, select it and then click OK. A message is displayed indicating how many files have been added.
- You can individually add each target review document. This is useful if you only have one document to select. You may also need to do this if you changed the file names or the file structure within the External Review folder.
- Select the target language for which you want to add the target review document.
- Select the project file under the Project File column for which you want to add the target review document, click Add and then select Specific Review Document.
- From the Files of type drop-down list, select
Regulator Review Target Files (*.target.docx), then select the document and click Open.
- Under Update Options:
- Select the status to give the updated translations in Studio. By default, it automatically changes the status to Translation Rejected.
- To make a backup of your
*.sdlxliff project file in case you accidentally overwrite content that you want to keep, select Back up project files before update. If you are working with a GroupShare project, a backup is automatically made on GroupShare.
- Click Finish to update your project files with the content from the reviewed documents.
- When the task is completed, click Close to exit the Batch Processing wizard.
Your
*.sdlxliff document has now been updated.
Note: If you accidentally overwrite any content in the
*.sdlxliff file when you import the updates and you made a backup during the update, you can revert to the previous project file using the backup.
To do this, open the folder where your *.sdlxliff file is stored, delete the newly updated project file filename.sdlxliff and change the extension of the filename.backup file from *.backup to *.sdlxliff.
If you are working with a GroupShare project, you can revert to the backup made on GroupShare by downloading the specific version and then replacing the current file on GroupShare with that version.
