How to work with TQA
- About Translation Quality Assessment
Use the Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) feature to measure the quality of a translation using your chosen criteria. - Setting up the TQA configuration
As a project manager, you set up a standard Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) configuration to guide reviewers when evaluating your translation projects. As reviewers evaluate a translation using the configuration metrics, SDL Trados Studiocomputes this feedback to automatically determine if the translation meets the quality threshold defined in the configuration. - Configuring TQA Metrics
As a project manager, you can configure your Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) configuration by defining the following metrics: Categories, Severities, Scoring and Document Types. - Calculating and overriding the Pass/Fail result
When you set up a Pass/Fail threshold for your Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) configuration, SDL Trados Studio calculates the penalty points corresponding to each TQA added to the document. - Editing a TQA configuration
Edit an existing TQA configuration to update the current quality metrics that reviewers use when giving feedback on a translation. Changing the Severities list or the Score matrix also updates the algorithm that SDL Trados Studio uses to automatically determine if a translation meets the quality criteria defined in the TQA configuration. - Sending TQA projects to Freelancers
The ability to use the Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) feature is only included in the Professional and Workgroup editions of SDL Trados Studio. - Reviewing documents in assess quality mode
TQA works similarly to Tracked Changes: it highlights changes, but it also allows the user to add metadata to each change to give specific feedback on the quality. This metadata is captured in TQA configurations. - Correcting errors in TQA Mode
As a translator, you may receive a document containing translation quality assessment (TQA) items back from review. These are suggested changes that reviewers make in TQA mode, using custom quality metrics specified in a TQA configuration. You can accept or reject these changes in order to update your translation document with the suggestions from the reviewer. - Generating a TQA Report
Generate a Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) report to get a detailed analysis of the translation quality assessment (TQA) items available in one or more project files.
