Navigate segments

This topic describes how to navigate segments in the Editor window in the Editor view. By default, whenever you confirm a translation, the cursor moves automatically to the next segment requiring translation. To move the cursor to another segment manually, you can use any of the following methods:

About this task

  • se the mouse to click inside the segment you want to work in.
  • Press Ctrl+Page Up to move the cursor to the start of the current segment.
  • Press Ctrl+Page Down to move the cursor to the end of the current segment.
  • Press Ctrl+ to go to the next unconfirmed segment.
  • Press Ctrl+ to go to the previous unconfirmed segment.
  • Click the Next and the Previous buttons on the Home tab > Navigate group to navigate to the next or previous unconfirmed segment.
  • Use the scroll bar to scroll the segments.
  • Click inside the source segments and use the mouse scroll wheel to scroll them.
  • Separate the source and target segments into two lists and scroll them separately.

When source and target segments become misaligned, ensure that the cursor is inside a target segment and then click Scroll source to target selection from the View tab.

Go To segments

About this task

In the Go To dialog box, you can navigate to different segments based on specific criteria. For example, you can navigate between untranslated segments and segments for which a comment has been added.

Procedure

  1. In the Editor view, select Go To on the Home tab. The Go To dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select if you want to navigate segments by:
    • Number
    • Catergory
    • Status
    • Comment
  3. Select the options for the type of navigation selected.
  4. If you selected to navigate by:
    • Number, click Go To to navigate to a specific segment.
    • Status, Category or Comment, click Previous and Next to navigate between segments.
  5. Click Close to close the Go To dialog box.
