New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard > Language Resources

Use the Language Resources page of the New Server-based Translation Memory wizard to define the language resources to be used by the new translation memory. Language resources for server-based TMs are based only on the source languages.

  • f you base the new translation memory on an existing translation memory (TM), the language resources in the copy-from TM will be applied to the new TM.
  • If you create the new translation memory from scratch, the default language resources will be applied to the new TM.
  • If you choose a language resource template, the resource settings in the template will be applied to the new TM.

Whichever settings are applied, you can edit them in this page of the wizard.

To display this page, click Next on the Fields and Settings page of the New Server-based Translation Memory wizard.

BoxDescription

Template

If you want to apply or change the currently applied language resource template to the translation memory, click Browse to display the Select Language Resource Template dialog box where you can select the template. When applied the template is linked to the server-based translation memory and when the language resources in the template are updated, the language resources in the translation memory are also updated.

Server-based language resource templates are multilingual, therefore when you select a template, the appropriate source language resources are applied to each source language you selected for the server-based translation memory.

Language

Select the source language for which you want to specify language resources. When you select a source language, the resources below only pertain to the selected source language. The source languages available for selection are the languages you specified on the Language Pairs page of this wizard.

Resources

The language resource lists displayed here pertain only to the currently selected source language in the Language box.

The language resource types:
  • Abbreviation List

  • Variable List

  • Ordinal Follower

  • List Segmentation Rules

Select a list and click Edit to view or edit the list.

When you edit a language resource:

  • The name of the updated resource list is displayed in bold.
  • If you selected a language resource template, an asterisk is appended to the template name.

Reset

Click this to reset all language resources to their original states.

Click Finish to start creating the new translation memory and display the Creating page of the New Server-based Translation Memory wizard.
