Opening Retrofit files in Alignment view

SDL Trados Studio uses the Alignment view to open the result of the alignment that it performs when importing a reviewed target file. Use this view to correct any misalignments before importing the alignment results into the corresponding project file.

About this task

When you open an alignment result file in the Alignment view, Studio displays the aligned source and target documents on two side-by-side columns.

Opening Retrofit files automatically

About this task

Run the Update from Reviewed Target File (Retrofit) batch task with the Review the reverse alignment before updating option enabled and Studio automatically creates *.sdlretrofit files in the Retrofit folder of the project's folder tree and opens the alignment result file for review in the Alignment view. To save the *.sdlretrofit file on your computer for later review select Home tab > Save.

Opening Retrofit files manually

About this task

If you have saved the alignment result file for later review, you can manually open the *.sdlretrofit file in the Alignment view.

To open an existing *.sdlretrofit file:

Procedure

  1. Click File > Open Retrofit File or Open Retrofit File on the Welcome view.
  2. Browse to the location of your *.sdlretrofit file and double-click to open it.
