BoxDescription

Search Options

These settings affect what translation memory matches are automatically displayed.

Perform search if the TM lookup returns no results

Select this option if you want SDL Trados Studio to automatically run a concordance search when the translation memory search for the current segment generates no results.

When Studio finishes the TM lookup and does not find any results, the Concordance Search window automatically opens to display the concordance results for the current segment. If you want to perform a concordance search on part of the segment only, select some text in the source language segment and press F3.

By default, this option is disabled.

Display Options

These settings affect the way translation memory matches are displayed in the Concordance window.

Show translation unit field valuesWhen this option is selected, field values for the translation unit are displayed in the Concordance Search window. These are field values that you or the person who created the translation memory specified. For example, a client ID, project or cost code. The field values are displayed in a special column that is added to the extreme right-hand side of the window. If there are no field values for a translation unit , the column does not appear.
Number of field values to show If you selected the Show translation unit field values option above, specify how many of those values you want to be displayed.
Search terms highlighting colorBy default, matching text in the translation memory segment is highlighted in yellow. To change the default color, select a different one from the three tabs on this drop-down list. The following are the three tabs that are displayed when you click the down arrow: Custom, Web and System.
  • Click the Custom tab to display a color palette. Click a color in the palette and the color is applied to the currently selected screen component. If the color you want to use is not displayed here, right-click on one of the blank, colorless squares at the bottom of the tab to display the Color dialog box where you can create your own custom color.
  • Click the Web tab to display a list of colors which can be used in web pages. Select a color and the color is applied to the currently selected screen component.
  • Click the System tab to display a list of Microsoft screen components and colors assigned to the components. Select a color/component combination and the color is applied to the currently selected Studio screen component.
