Overview: The Editor view windows
The following windows are available in the Editor view:
This window displays document comments for all open documents. From here you can view and edit existing comments and add new comments. | |
This window displays the results of concordance searches. From here you can select some text from a search result and insert it into a target segment or perform new searches. You can enable SDL Trados Studio to automatically open this window and show the concordance search results for segments which do not return any TM search results. To do this, select the Perform search if the TM lookup returns no results option available on the Concordance Search Window. | |
This window displays the status of all the segments in the active document. | |
This window displays verification error messages for all open documents. | |
The Preview window is docked in the top right hand-side of the Editor view. This window displays a WYSIWYG preview of the active document. It is updated in real time. This means that as you type, the changes you make are immediately visible in this window.

This window displays the results of the SDL MultiTerm (Desktop) termbase search for terms in the active source segment. | |
This window is used to manually search for terms in the MultiTerm termbase. It also displays the results of the search. | |
The Termbase Viewer window is docked at the top left hand-side of the Editor view. You can use this window to:

This window displays the translation quality assessments for all open documents. From here you can view, edit and delete the available translation quality assessments available for the documents in the project. | |
This window displays the results of translation memory lookups and automated translation lookups for the active source segment. From here you can apply one of the results to the current segment. |
By default, the Translation Results, Concordance Search, Comments, TQAs and Messages windows appear grouped together at the top of the Editor view. However, if you open a file for review, they appear at the bottom of the view as tabs. The Preview window appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the view.
Windows can be docked in new positions or can float above the Editor view or be placed on the desktop. See Displaying and Managing Windows for more information.
