Overview: Batch Edit Wizard
Use the Batch Edit wizard to quickly apply the same changes to many translation units in a translation memory at the same time without having to edit each one individually.
To display this wizard, make the translation memory for which you want to batch edit translation units the active translation memory in the Translation Memories view and select from the menu bar.
When you apply a batch edit to a translation memory, you are not required to authorize the editing of each individual translation unit affected by the batch process. However, you are required to set up each batch process by specifying:
- How to identify the translation units to be edited.
- The nature of the change to be made to the translation units.
For example, in order to batch edit translation units you have to create a filter that identifies the translation units to be edited. However, once you have done this, SDL Trados Studio searches the translation memory for all translations units that match the filter and automatically edits them.
The wizard contains the following pages:
| Page | Description |
|---|---|
Batch Edit Script | This is where you specify which translation units should be updated and how they should be updated. You can specify the settings from scratch or you can load them from a previously saved batch edit script. You can also save the current script to a file. See Batch Edit Script for more information. |
Applying Batch Edit Script | This is where it tracks the progress of the batch edit and displays the edit results. See Applying Batch Edit Script for more information. |
