Servers

Use the Servers dialog box to manage connections to SDL Studio GroupShare servers where server-based translation memories and termbases are located.

To display this dialog box, select File > Servers from the menu bar.

Add

Click Add to set up a connection to a server that is not currently on the list. The Add SDL Server dialog box is displayed for completion.

Edit

Select a server and then click this to display the Edit SDL Server dialog box where you can modify server details and login credentials.

Delete

Select a server and click Delete to remove the server from the Servers dialog box.

Check Server Availability

Select a server and click this to check whether the server is available to be connected to.

Clear Stored Credentials

Click this to remove the stored remove your stored login information (user name and password). The next time you connect to the server, you will be prompted to enter this information again.

Name

The information on this row of the dialog box relates to this server.

Status

Indicates if the server is available to connect to.

  • Available - The server is available to connect to.
  • Authentication Failed - You user name and/or password is incorrect so you cannot connect to the server.
  • Windows Authentication is not supported via http - To connect to this server, you need to use SDL authentication and enter a user name and password.
  • Unknown - The current status is unknown. Click Check Server Availability to see if you can connect to this server. If you cannot connect to the server, a message is displayed and the status remains as Unknown. This may occur if you have incorrect server details, for example the wrong server address or is the server has been shut down.
