Termbase Search Window
The Termbase Search window in the Editor view is used to search for terms in the SDL MultiTerm (Desktop). It searches the source language for any matching terms and the results are displayed in the Termbase Search window.
The Termbase Search window is always present in the Editor view (unless you close it completely). If the Termbase Search window is currently hidden behind other windows, click the Termbase Search window name tab or select from the menu bar.

| Search box | Enter the term for which you want to search the termbase and press Enter. You can use wildcards as placeholders for unspecified characters in the search text. MultiTerm locates all terms in the termbase that match the search text. For example, the search text *berry could be matched with the terms strawberry and blackberry. |
Fuzzy Search Click this to enable the Fuzzy Search option to find a term when you are unsure of the spelling, or want to omit parts of the term from the search text. A fuzzy search finds terms that are similar or identical to the search text. For example, a fuzzy search for 'glyf' would find the correct term 'glyph'. View term detail Click this to the view the termbase entry for the selected term in the Termbase Viewer window . The termbase entry contains terms and related information, such as the term description, translation, and creation date. | |
Insert term translation Click this to insert the selected term translation at the cursor position in the target document, in the Editor window . | |
Hitlist settings Click this to display the Hitlist Settings dialog box, where you can specify how termbase search results are displayed in the Term Recognition window and Termbase Search window. | |
Project Termbase Settings Click to edit the termbase settings. The Project Termbase Settings dialog box is displayed. | |
| Results box | Displays the search results for the current source segment. The source term found in the termbase is displayed first and the suggested translation beneath. |
