Translation memory settings
- Overview: Translation memory settings
Use the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to view and update settings for the translation memory that is currently selected in the navigation tree in the Translation Memories view. The settings are split into these categories: - Translation memory settings dialog box > [Translation memory name]
Use the [Translation Memory Name] page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to view the general details about an existing translation memory, for example, its name and source language. - Translation memory settings dialog box > Language pairs
Use the Language Pairs page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to edit which language pairs are in server-based translation memories. This page is only displayed for server-based translation memories because they are multilingual and not for file-based translation memories that are bilingual. - Translation memory settings dialog box > Fields and settings
Use the Fields and Settings page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to view and edit existing fields and create additional fields in the translation memory. You can also specify translation memory settings here. - Translation memory settings dialog box > Language resources
Use the Language Resources page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to modify language resources lists in the translation memory (TM). These lists are used in conjunction with the segmentation rules in translation memory processing and to identify untranslatable content. You can modify language resources settings for both source and target languages. Modifying the language resources for both the source and the target language of a TM can be useful for aligning documents. - Translation memory settings dialog box > Access rights
Use the Access Rights page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to set up password protection for a file-based translation memory. If you decide to password protect a translation memory, you have to define passwords for all of the available access levels and everyone who tries to open the translation memory will be asked to provide a password (including the administrator). - Translation memory settings dialog box > Performance and tuning
Use the Performance and Tuning page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog box to improve the performance of server-based translation memory searches (on the selected translation memory) with the available tools. - Fragment Alignment
Use the Fragment Alignment page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog to set up fragment matching for the translation memory.
