Verifying the Translation

Verification is automatically performed on a segment when you confirm a translation in the Editor view. You can also verify all translations in the active document at the same time. If there is an error in the translation, one of the following icons is displayed in the segment status column and details of the error are displayed in the Messages window:

Verifying Translations

Procedure

  1. In the Editor view, select Review tab > Quality Assurance group > Verify or press F8. The active document is checked using the enabled verifiers. When the verification is complete, any errors found in the document are automatically displayed in the Messages window.
  2. To fix any errors, you can do one of the following:
    • Click once on any message in the Messages window to jump to the segment with the error.
    • Double-click on a message in the Messages window to display the Verification Message Details dialog box where you can review and fix errors.

About this task

The boxes displayed and options available in this dialog box change depending on which verifier has reported the error.

Procedure

  1. In the Verification Message Details dialog box, perform one of the following actions:
    • To ignore the message, click Ignore to ignore it once or click Ignore All to ignore all messages of the same type, for example, Segment has not been translated . If you run verification again, these messages will no longer be reported.
    • To correct the error in your document with the suggested text from the Suggestions box, click Change . You can select what text is displayed in the Target Segment Content box from the Suggestions box or manually type the content into the Target Segment Content box.
  2. When you are finished reviewing your messages, click Close.
