XML file types (non-XLIFF)
- XML Detection settings
- XML Parser rule settings
The XML parser rules tell SDL Trados Studio how to process the elements found in XML documents. These rules dictate what content is extracted for translation and how this content is displayed in the Editor view. - XML Writer
The XML Writer settings specify the UTF-8 BOM and xml:lang attributes in the target file. - XML Entities
Use the XML Entity conversion settings to specify how the SDL Trados Studio editor displays character entities to translators. If a character entity is selected for conversion, Studio displays the character during translation, then re-encodes the character into its entity reference form, which it inserts into the translated file. - XML Namespaces
The XML Namespaces settings provide namespace declarations for an XML file type. Each namespace declaration specifies a URI for each prefix. When SDL Trados Studio opens an XML document of this file type, it uses these namespaces. - XML Whitespace
Use the global settings on the Whitespace page of your XML file type tree to define how SDL Trados Studio deals with any extra whitespace characters in the elements of an XML document. - XML Preview
Use the XML Preview page to specify style sheets to transform the XML. The appropriate style sheets enable you to get a useful preview for files of this XML file type. - XML Validation page
Validation ensures that the structure and content of the XML document matches the specifications given by the DTD or schema. Use the validation page to specify schemas and DTDs to use for validation, and to specify when validation is done (during the file detection stage, or when the translator requests it). - XML Embedded content
Use the options on the Embedded Content page of your XML file type to configure where SDL Trados Studio or later looks for embedded content in the XML file and what processor it uses to handle this embedded content. - XML Examples
