Batch delete translation units

You can delete translation units (TUs) via batch tasks to discard them automatically from your translation memory (TM).

About this task

Before You Start

Procedure

  1. In the Translation Memories view, if the translation memory you want to update is not in the navigation tree, open the translation memory (select File > Open > Open Translation Memory from the menu bar).
  2. If you want to delete a set of translation units (not the entire translation memory), a filter that will select the translation units must exist before you start the Batch Edit wizard. Click How to Create a Filter to find out how to create a filter.

To batch delete translation units from a translation memory:

Procedure

  1. In the Translation Memories view, make the translation memory for which you want to batch delete translation units the active translation memory.
  2. Go to the Home tab and select Batch Delete from the Ribbon (or right-click the translation memory and select Batch Delete from the shortcut menu).
  3. In the Batch Delete wizard, select the filter that identifies the translation units to be deleted.
    • If you want to delete all translation units in the translation memory, select <no filter>.

  4. Click Finish. SDL Trados Studio starts deleting translation units and the Applying batch delete script page is displayed.
  5. When the batch delete is complete, click Close to close the wizard.
    • If the batch edit has produced errors, click Show Error Details to view the error details.
