Configuring Microsoft PowerPoint XP-2003

You can configure Microsoft PowerPoint XP-2003 settings, so that you customize the way this file type is processed during translation or review.

Procedure

  1. Decide for which projects you want to configure file type settings:
    • For the active project, go to the Projects view, and on the Home tab, select Project Settings.
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options.
  2. Expand the File Types list, and select the Microsoft PowerPoint XP-2003 filter.
  3. Select the Notes and shapes page, to specify how notes and shapes are displayed in the target file for translation.
    1. Choose an option from the Include notes: list, to specify the location of notes in the target file.
    2. Choose an option from the Order of shapes: list, to specify the order in which shapes are displayed in the target file.
  4. Select the Common page, to specify which content is made available for translation.
    1. Choose an option from the Hyperlink processing: list, to specify how hyperlink content is processed:
      • Always process hyperlinks - All parts of the hyperlink element are available for translation, including the hyperlink itself.
      • Extract only hyperlink text - Only the visible hyperlink text is available for translation. The hyperlink is copied to the target segment, but cannot be edited.
      • Never process hyperlinks - The hyperlink text is presented for translation, but the hyperlink is not copied to the target segment.
    2. Select the Include comments for translation checkbox, to make comments available for translation. Usually, comments are not translated, so, if this is the case, keep this option disabled.
    3. Select the Treat break tags as document structure checkbox, to treat soft returns (break tags) as segment breaks. If you disable this option, you extract them for translation as text.
  5. Select the QuickInsert page.
  6. Specify QuickInsert settings to insert tags and formatting, or to insert text and special characters.
  7. Select Font mapping.
  8. Specify the font mapping settings for your source and target languages.
