Copying and pasting tags

Select individual tags, and copy and paste them one at a time into a target segment in the Editor window, of the Editor view. Alternatively, you can select a chunk of text that includes a number of tags and paste this into a target segment; the tags are copied and pasted with the text.

About this task

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor window, in the source segment, select the required tag.
  4. Copy the tag to the clipboard. You can either press Ctrl+C or right-click and, on the context menu, select Copy.
  5. Place the cursor in the target segment at the point where you want the tag to appear.
  6. To paste the tag into the segment, Ctrl+V or right-click and, on the shortcut menu, select Paste.
  7. Type the text to be formatted by the tag pair.
  8. Repeat steps 2-5 to insert the closing tag of the pair. The ghost tag disappears.
You can also use this method to copy and paste individual placeholder tags.
