Getting the latest version of the files

The Local State column in the Files view indicates whether you have the latest version of the file from a SDL Trados GroupShare server-based project on your machine.

About this task

You can get (download) the latest version of files automatically or manually depending on when you want to work on your files offline or not. The manual download process is recommended when you want to translate or review the file offline or when you want to view the progress of the files in detail.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Files view and select the file you want to work on.
  2. Decide how you want to work on the file:
    • Automatically get the latest version of the file - On the Home tab, in the Trados GroupShare layout, select Check Out. The latest file version from the SDL Trados GroupShare Project Server is automatically copied to your computer.
    • Manually get the latest version of the file - On the Home tab, in the Trados GroupShare layout, select Get Latest Version.
The status of the file in the Local State column changes to Up-to-date.
