OptionDescription
Comments

You can include comments for translation or skip them.

Headers and footers

You can include headers and footers for translation or skip them.

Hidden content (columns, rows, sheets, objects)

You can add these for translation or skip them.

Sheet names

The default option is to include sheet names for translation. In order to skip them, you have to uncheck the option.

Alternative text

Alternative text corresponds to the Alt HTML attribute. You can include alternative text for translation or skip it.

Hyperlinks

Enable this option to make all parts of the hyperlink element available to the translator, including the hyperlink itself.

Cells with numeric content

In order to include cells with numbers, it's necessary to take into consideration this option, which is disabled as default.

Also, for those cells with numeric content, the formatting will be extracted, if it exists. However, it should be taken into consideration that formatting is allowed only at cell-level formatting, not inline formatting.

Document propertiesDo not extract

This option does not extract any file properties for translation.

All document properties

Extracts all the file properties from the Summary and Custom tabs and makes them available for translation.

Summary

Extracts only the file properties from the Summary tab (title, subject, author etc.) and makes them available for translation.

Custom

Extracts only the file properties from the Custom tab and makes them available for translation.

Treat special characters as inline placeholder tags

Examples of special characters are non-breaking space, tab and discretionary hyphen. You can treat these characters as text or as tags. If you treat them as tags they are put into inline tags. Em dash and en dash are always treated as text.

Skip character spacing and kerning

If the option is cleared in Trados Studio, placeholders like <cf nfa= "True"> will be available.

If the option is selected, spacing and kerning formatting will be ignored. <cf nfa="True"> will also be ignored.

Extract optional hyphens

The placement of discretionary hyphens is dependent on the structure and pronunciation of words in the source language, so usually you should choose to remove rather than extract them.

Embedded content page

For information on the option available on the Java Embedded Content page, consult the topics which describe how the legacy embedded content processors are configured.
