Translation Memory | |
Perform lookup when active segment changes | When selected, SDL Trados Studio performs a translation memory lookup when the cursor moves to a new segment. |
Apply best match after successful lookup | When selected, Trados Studio applies the best lookup result to the current segment. This applies only to TM matches by default. To extend this to machine translation enable the Apply automated translation when no TM match is found option. |
Apply automated translation when no TM match is found | When selected and a machine translation match occurs, the match is automatically inserted into the Editor. By default, this is set to off, meaning that the machine translation match will show up in the Translation Results window, but it will not be inserted into the Editor. |
Perform automated translation lookup on confirmed segments | When selected and you have machine translation as a provider, Trados Studio performs a machine translation lookup when the cursor moves to a confirmed segment. This is disabled by default (note that enabling this will consume characters from the SDL Language Cloud account). This option might prove useful if you want to review a translation using machine translation. |
Turn off Track Changes when applying TM matches | When selected, Trados Studio will insert the matching translation from the TM into the target segment with no tracked changes applied. |
Copy source when no match is found | Select this if you want the source segment text to be copied to the target segment when there is no translation memory match for the source segment. |
Confirm segment after applying an exact match | When selected, Trados Studio confirms segments to which it has applied an exact translation memory match or a context match (CM). |
Apply better match if found in TM after merging segments | When enabled, after merging segments that already contain target content, Trados Studio automatically applies a better match from the translation memory for the new merged source segment. |
Enable LookAhead | When enabled, Trados Studio retrieves real-time TM matches and populates the Translation Results window, even for long or complex stretches of text. |
After Confirming Segments Manually
Update translation memory | When selected, Trados Studio adds the segment translation to the translation memory when the translator confirms a translation or when a reviewer approves a translation. |
Enable verification of segment | When selected, Trados Studio verifies the segment when the translator confirms it. You can also verify the target document at any time by selecting Review tab > Quality Assurance group > Verify in the Editor view. |
After merging segments across paragraphs boundaries
Hide empty segments that have been merged | After the source and target content has been merged to the first segment of your selection, the remaining empty segments will remain in the document structure but will be hidden from the Editor view if this option is selected. |
Set translation status for empty segments to: | You can also set the status of the empty segment to the option you choose from the drop-down list. |
