Returning completed work to SDL WorldServer

You can create a return package when you complete your work. You can only do this if you initially received a project package from the Project Manager or from another user. You can upload the return package to SDL WorldServer from SDL Trados Studio automatically or manually.

About this task

When you re-import an updated *.wxsz project package from SDL WordlServer 11.1 or later in SDL Trados Studio 2015 CU5 or later, the existing project is updated in SDL Trados Studio . In previous versions, SDL Trados Studio would create a new project each time you imported the same *.wxsz project package. If you added new files to the SDL WordlServer project, or modified existing ones, these would all be updated when being re-imported in SDL Trados Studio . This is also valid for translation memories (TMs), termbases (TBs) and project attributes.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the SDL WorldServer package whose content you finished translating or reviewing.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Packages group, select Create Return Package.
  3. On the Select Files page of the Create Return Package wizard, select the checkboxes next to the files you want to include in the return package. If you have previously included any of the files displayed in another return package, those files will not be selected by default. All files in the project are included in the list apart from reference files.
  4. Select Next.
  5. On the Return Package Options page, decide how you want to send the return package:
    • Send the return package to SDL WorldServer automatically
      1. Select Server on the Return Package Options page. If the package was created in SDL WorldServer 10.3 or later, SDL Trados Studio recognizes the server where the package came from so that you can upload the return package back to its original location. For packages created in earlier versions, enter the server address in the Server field.
      2. If the server connection is disabled, select Authentication to enter your credentials for the specified server address.
    • Send the return package to SDL WorldServer manually
      1. Select File.
      2. Browse for a different return package location, if necessary.
  6. Select Finish. If errors or warnings occurred during package creation and upload, select the package and click Show Results.

After the return package is created, the manual task assigned to the files in that package is displayed as complete in the My Tasks folder on the navigation tree of the Files view.
