Searching termbase entries

SDL Trados Studio automatically searches the termbase when you place your cursor in a segment.

About this task

Search results are displayed in the Term Recognition window. However, you can also manually perform a search in the termbase and insert the term translation into your active file in the Editor view.

Search for terms in SDL MultiTerm from the Termbase Search window in the Editor view. Search for any matching terms in the source language and the results are displayed in the Termbase Search window.

The Termbase Search window is always present in the Editor view (unless you close it completely). If the Termbase Search window is currently hidden behind other windows, select the Termbase Search window name tab or select View > Termbase Search from the Ribbon.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor view, select the Termbase Search tab to display the Termbase Search window.
If this window is not displayed, in the Editor view, select the View tab and, in the Information group, select Termbase Search.
