Specifying default languages

You can specify a source and target language that are always selected when you create a new translation.

About this task

The Editor > Languages settings determine:
  • What default source and target languages are used for all new translations. This enables you to quickly start a new translation if you use the same source and target languages for all your translations
  • Whether or not you are prompted to specify a source and target language when creating a new translation

Procedure

  1. Go to File > Options from the Ribbon.
  2. In the Options dialog, in the navigation tree, select Editor > Languages. The language settings are displayed on the right.
  3. Under Default Languages, select your default source and target languages. Default selections for these languages are not required and can be changed when you create a translation if the Prompt for document languages if they cannot be detected automatically checkbox is selected.
  4. Select OK to save the settings and to close the Options dialog.
